BEST Ear Scritches EVER!!!

So as you see above I am being spoiled by a professional ear scritcher. This guy is the best! The little mop next to his legs? Well she doesn't like me, but that doesn't bother me at all. She even tried to nip at me! Ha! with that tiny mouth? What was she thinking. Anyway, she's clearly jealous because of the ear action I was getting.

Here I am clearly more concerned about my foster mother than my foster brother is. My goodness, he didn't even care that she was walking out the door----WITHOUT US! What is wrong with him!

Anyway, my foster mom is amazed that I am 8 years old. She says that I am the best of both worlds- I have a lot of puppy play and am REALLY GOOFY, but I'm the best boy and am calm when she leaves and am soooo well behaved!
I am the best....Gold star Greyhound for sure.
Come visit me and take me home and I will allow you to scritch my ears and I will stare at you with the same loving eyes!

All Settled In

So my foster mom keeps telling me to not get too comfortable, but I can't help it. I love the dog beds here and look, I'm hugging a stuffed vulture! What could be better?! I know she loves me and I am a lovey boy! So here are my accomplishments I'd like to share:
  • Stairs here are ok. The ones going upstairs are carpeted so that makes it nice. I'm not nervous at all. My foster mom guides me down sometimes if all of the dogs are going down together.
  • The yard here is great - I love to run and play.
  • I sleep well through the night and eat with my foster brothers on schedule. I like cottage cheese. Do you know they serve that here every day?!
  • Mom keeps trimming my nails. That seems to be quite important to my mobility and confidence on the steps. I'm not sure why some dogs get nervous with the dremel tool. It kinda tickles, but I am so good, I just stand and let her trim them up!
  • I know some basics like, "Go lay down". Foster mom has been saying that a lot since she's been home this week having work done around the house.
  • I've been a good boy when she goes out for at least 6 hours. She leaves Pandora on so that we can listen to music. I like a bit of country, and meditation music too.
So please let me know if you'd like to apply for an interview by calling 304-229-4944. I expect you to be able to answer all my questions, so study up and bring some treats for the interview as well!

Overnight Success

Well I made it and proved them all wrong! Apparently the stairs here aren't so bad. They have carpeting and my foster mom has been coaching / guiding me as we go up and down them. She's also been trimming my nails thinking that shorter nail will help my footing.

I slept through most of the night but woke up around 4 AM and was chewing my bandage. So my foster mom tried to re bandage it, but I fooled her and took it right off! Silly lady. So she's keeping an eye on it. My foster mom also says something frequently to me. She tells me, with a snicker, that I have a drinking problem. Not sure what she means but I am drinking a lot of water, 'cause I'm nervous. Ear rubs, silly voices, and stuffies help me calm my nerves. I'm also glad to have the other two dogs here, my foster brothers. Interesting enough, the dishwasher dude, you know the black and white NON GREYHOUND? He's been quite a companion. We have had many fun jaunts around the yard. He's showing me all the cool places to go. The other guy, Dax the greyhound, he acts like he's goo good for either of us and ignores me!
Ok I'll send more pictures later. There's a pile of blankets on the floor calling my name!

Mooooooose! has arrived

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Strong home. I am here to introduce you to the best greyhound ever.....ME! My name is Moose and I just arrived today. I am quite sad to leave my family who loved me so much, but the steps were just too much and I really needed another hound to keep me company. So here I am.

I am quite a love-bug and enjoy the company of other animals. There's a bird here and two cats and of course the best kind of dog around....another greyhound. We are the superior breed as one can tell from the behavior of my other foster brother, Finnegan. Just look. He actually got on the dishwasher! How disgusting.

Anyway I am acclimating quickly and I'll keep you posted. Here are my wish list items for my forever home:

I would like a home with another dog. I get lonely and need some company and someone who is like minded! Not sure I need someone like the goofball above, maybe another greyhound would work better!

I am not fond of stairs. I am a clumsy one, so limited stairs would be best and if so, please carpet them!

I like other animals, cats and hey they have a bird here and it's ok in my book. My foster mom says I'm a good boy for not trying to eat him!

As you see here I have a bandage on from a scrape from the steps. I get nervous and then I get clumsy. My foster mom said she'd work with me on that.
Clearly from the pictures below you can see I am first and foremost handsome as anything, and not camera shy!

Ok so I gotta go now. If you'd like to chat, you'll have to go through my clerical staff at Paws on the Mountain and Denise! Best of luck and hope you win the prize!!! ME!
